The Health Programs Unit is responsible for supporting and delivering activities that develop the capability and capacity of the sector. This is done through advice, support, education and/or training delivered by a team of Workforce Coordinators who focus on Cultural Capability and Education, Workforce Planning and Development, Continuous Quality Improvement and Accreditation, and Chronic Disease and Medicare.
In addition, dedicated funding enables the Health Programs Unit to provide coordinated support and advice to Member Services on some specific health issues, including Hearing Health, Immunisation, Diabetes and Alcohol and Other Drugs.
