Research and Evidence

The Research and Evidence Unit is responsible for collecting, analysing and publishing Member data, and managing and commissioning of published research which will improve the Sector. The Research and Evidence Unit is responsible for the identification of Sector-wide health needs/priorities based on evidence; the development of data sets that can be used to inform public policy; development and health program commissioning; and the development of surveys that inform sector development activities.

The Research and Evidence Unit is also responsible for the soon to be formed QAIHC Ethics Committee tasked to assess research proposals affecting the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Queensland; to monitor the collection of data on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health in the Sector; and to ensure these activities are conducted ethically.
