Nominations are now open for the 2019 QAIHC Awards for Excellence. The Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of individuals and organisations within the Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Sector.

Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Council (QAIHC) CEO Neil Willmett said the Community Controlled Health Sector is one of the hardest working Sectors, dedicated to delivering essential services to communities across Queensland.

“It’s important to recognise and honour the dedication and commitment of our Member Services who have significantly contributed to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples,” said Mr Willmett.

QAIHC Chairperson Aunty Gail Wason strongly encourages QAIHC Member Services to nominate for an award.

“We know we are a hardworking sector. We know we go above and beyond for our communities. This event is the perfect opportunity to come together and celebrate our achievements,” said Aunty Gail.

First held in 2017, the Awards have become a premier event on the Community Controlled Health Sector calendar.

There are five award categories: QAIHC Member of the Year Award; QAIHC Leader of the Year Award; QAIHC Innovation Excellence Award; QAIHC Partnership Excellence Award; and QAIHC Patient Satisfaction and Service Excellence Award.
