Service Planning and Development is responsible for leading the coordination, development and implementation of regional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health planning and service development within Community Controlled Health Services (CCHSs) throughout Queensland.

•    Develop and lead the implementation of local community / service area planning processes with CCHSs.

•    Lead the development and assist with the implementation of service development plans within CCHSs, 
identifying priorities for primary health care service enhancement / development in response to identified needs.

•    Lead the implementation of recommendations arising from the QAIHF Child & Maternal Health Project, including assisting CCHSs with implementation of the Health for Life initiative.

•    In collaboration with QAIHC CCRE, support cross network adaptation / adoption of innovations and best practice in primary health care.

•    Develop the capacity of CCHSs to effectively contribute to local and regional planning processes.

•    Coordinate implementation of approved regional planning activities within designated CCHSs.

•    Support CCHSs in the development, coordination and implementation of the Regional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plans.

•    Ensure consistent operation of Regional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Forums state-wide.

•    Develop an implementation review of capital works / infrastructure needs of CCHSs and assist with the identification / securing of necessary funds to improve primary health care service delivery.

•    Support advocacy by CCHSs for capital works funding.

•    Support effective and structured relationships between CCHSs and Indigenous Coordination Centres (ICCs).
