MBS Services

The MBS Team collaborates with Medicare Australia to:
•    Ensure that compliance and audit requirements are met;
•    Attain Medicare enrolment information;
•    Clarify claiming practices and MBS Schedule interpretation;
•    Ensure that claims are submitted correctly to avoid resubmission;
•    Correctly complete Medicare vouchers;
•    Identify Medicare claiming reports; and
•    Claim PIP items (including pap smear, asthma and diabetes items).

The MBS assists service development by:
•    Develop strategies for improving CCHS’s capacity to maximise MBS income.
•    Provide reports on issues relating to the delivery of MBS support to member organisations.
•    Raise awareness of AHW involvement in claiming items;
•    Develop Health Assessment scenarios to introduce claiming of the items;
•    Provide one-on-one training to Aboriginal Health Workers, Nurses and Administration / Reception staff;
•    Develop processes to sell AMS services to its clients;
•    Identify required websites to gain further information for Health Services;
•    Identify staff training requirements to improve service delivery; and
•    Provide assistance with the commencement of electronic billing.
•    Provide ongoing QAAMS Program information and education and referrals for training.
