The Centre for Clinical Research Excellence (CCRE) in Circulatory and Associated Conditions in Urban Indigenous Peoples is an collaborative research partnership, providing leadership and world class research focussed on improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Established in 2005 with funding from the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), the CCRE has successfully developed an innovative research program that is governed by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Services Sector through the Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Council (QAIHC). | |
The Centre’s core objectives are to:
- Support research to improve health outcomes in the community;
- Support and foster training of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers and health professionals;
- Increase the opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers; and
- Translate research findings to improve health service practice, influence policy and investments in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.

- Kambu Aboriginal Medical Service;
- Inala Community Health Service;
- Monash University;
