Dallas Leon

North and North West Director

CEO, Mt Isa Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service, trading as Gidgee Healing

Dallas Leon is a descendent of both the Kalkadoon people from the Mt Isa area and the Waanyi people whose country encompasses the Gulf of Carpentaria region of north-west Queensland.

With some seventeen years of work within the field of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health to his credit Dallas is adamant about his belief in the role and benefits of the Community Controlled Health Sector.  He has worked in primary health care, population health, research and management.  Whilst Dallas notes that enjoyment of his job is motivation enough to go to work each day, his strong passion for the sector is underpinned by the vision of better health outcomes through better access to primary health care services.

Dallas holds a Bachelor of Applied Health Science degree, a Master of Applied Epidemiology (Indigenous Health) and a Graduate Certificate in Health Care Management.
