Membership

QAIHC Membership is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Services in Queensland.

Community Controlled Health Services are primary health care services initiated by local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to deliver holistic and culturally appropriate health care to their communities. Their Boards are elected by local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

The QAIHC Constitution was amended in October 2012 at the Special General Meeting to support new classification structures -

  • Regional Membership for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Regional Organisations providing support services to local community controlled health services
  • Associate Membership for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Organisations delivering health-related services to their communities
  • Affiliate Membership for Organisations who share common interest and obejctives to members of QAIHC providing health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

QAIHC membership currently comprises of 25 Local Community Controlled Health Services operating throughout urban, regional, rural and remote Queensland.
